First published in Dec 1906 to much acclaimas "The Tinkler-Gypsies of Galloway this is the 2nd Impression of Dec 1907 which was revised and amended throughout with additional photographic illustrations and two new chapters included being "A Scotch Gypsy Village" and "Tinklers' Bairns." The work then covering a wider field the title was amended to it's present form. The author had long studied the Gypsy character and was approached by the Editor of the Gallovidian to write an article on Billy Marshall a Gypsy then large in the public memory. In carrying out his research amongst the Tinklers and representatives of old Galloway families the result was 12 articles now "grafted together on one briar. A noted work on the Tinkler/ Gypsy/ Romani way of life, traditions and lore of over 100 hundred years ago.
