STURDEE, THANKFULL REMINISCENCES OF OLD DEPTFORD
GREENWICH , LONDON HENRY RICHARDSON 1895 First Edition Hard Back Good+
Burgundy Cloth, bevelled boards with gilt title and embossed fig. a.e.g. 66 illustrations reproduced from old prints, drawings etc, compiled with accompanying text opposite each illustration by the author with 6 page list of subscribers at rear. Good. (edge wear to boards mainly colour loss, now significant fraying, No previous owner name. Sporadic minor to moderate foxing throughout. Endpapers cracked and binding a little flopy, top section of stitching loose to one section ). An uncommon title. Illustrations include, Deptford Bridge from River Ravensbourne, The Steam Bakery, Mill Lane, The Old Watermill, New Cross Road, The Locks on the Croydon Canal, The construction of the London and Brighton Railway, New Cross Station, New Cross Toll gate, Trinity Almshouses, The Royal Dockyard, Royal Victualling Yard, Tinderbox Row, Dean Stanhope School, The Old Windmill, Tanner's Lane etc.
