1st ed. 220x150mm approx. Light blue cloth boards with dark blue lettering to spine. 314pp. Frontis + 6 other illust. as expected. Biography of the pre-eminent Victorian Poet and Writer which centres on his works rather than the man. G+ (no d/j) Binding sound- no cracks to end papers. No previous owner name but ink stamp to rear paste down "The Swinburne Library Shoreham". Moderate browning to endpapers but contents clean. Spine a little sun faded and boards show some soiling from handling and front board has two "wrinkles" to cloth bottom right. Corners bumped and with some shelf wear to cloth at extremities but no significant fraying. A good sound reading copy.
