TOWER OF LONDON HMSO Hardcover Poor Map 230x230mm Approx.
Hard Cover , Cloth boards with marbled endpapers, mounted in sections on linen. 1" to 1 mile. The map appears to part of two sections of an OS Map measuring 2'x2' when extended. The area encompassed is Tiverton to Chard West- East bottom section and Minehead to Huntspill West East in the top section. The covers are worn and faded and the linen is weak at folds. There are also some ink markings to some of the sections.Someone has put the date 1809 in ink to top but this is clearly not the date as the Somerset and Bristol to Exeter Railway lines are shown. Despite this the map would look good mounted and framed behind glass.

All Edges Gilt. First Printing of the Garrett's edition of Aesop's Fables containing 115 fables with 100 wood engravings by Wolf, Zwecker and Dalziel. VG (Book- Re sewn by us on two tapes, with new mull and made end papers applied and re cased in the original publisher's cloth boards. A couple of slight flaws to end papers which occurred in laying in the re-sewn book block- (learning curve) being a crease and seepage of paste which damaged the surface of the new brown end paper. This has been masked with water colour so as not to draw the eye and is not significant but worthy of mention. Light finger soiling marks to margins of a few pages.Negligible wear or soiling to cloth boards. Despite these slight flaws the book is now a sound very attractive copy of quite a scarce edition which will provide many more years of service and would make an ideal gift.
